About Rosa Ferdosian

Meet Rosa Ferdosian

Blue Sky Health Founder and Managing Director

My journey in mental health and disability started in 2008. I have worked for many large organisations and disability providers prior to starting my tertiary education in Psychology. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with various types of disability and mental health disorders, and in 2011 I realised that I would like to have a lifelong career in this field. I completed my tertiary education at Curtin University in Western Australia and moved to NSW where I met the love of my life.

Why Blue Sky Health?

I was born in Persia and my Persian name is ‘Asmaneh’ which means Blue Sky.

Why Mental Health and Disability?

For as long as I remember, I’ve been part of the minority. In Persia I was among the very low percentage of non-Muslims; in Australia, I’m part of the very low percentage of Persians and at uni, I was part of the very low percentage of mature aged students. These life experiences helped me learn and grow. They helped me realise that life can be looked at from many different perspectives and that there is no one answer. It was through these life experiences that I learned about the crucial role that mental health plays in our lives.

I don’t believe we can live a healthy life without a healthy mind. Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Therefore, it impacts how we feel, think, and behave each day. Our mental health also contributes to our decision-making process, how we cope with stress, and how we relate to others in our lives. Also, raising disability awareness has always been a passion of mine. I strongly believe we can learn so much about ourselves and each other. I believe we are all equal and should all be able to accomplish our dreams and enjoy living life to the fullest. My dream is to make this possible for my clients.

Professional experience and registration

I am a Registered Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and looking forward to starting my Ph.D. in Developmental and Clinical Psychology soon. My professional experience also includes psychological counselling, disability, and behavioural support, and rehabilitation counselling.
